June 13 - day 15

Coming out of Cannonville - again right in the thick of the canyons! We have some soft tires but seem to be holding the air. Small climbs at first and nice landscapes of green and redish purple grasses lining the way that looked like layers of silk covering the dry terrain for the first 8 feet of shoulder then desert plants like sage and orange and yellow flowered plants. Just when we thought we were getting off easy with an east climb, a horrible grade came upon us. The real torture was the facts we could see 3 switch backs up ahead and the RVs that had passed us were struggling to get up the top. The grade got steeper and steeper! 3 of us had to walk! Yes, we must add some more weight to that girl!
